In the holy book, Allah (SWT) instructs us to recite the Quran with tajweed. This means modulating the Quranic recitation, and the system of tajwid provides guidance to improve its style. Prophet Mohammed صلی الله علیه وآلهِ وسلم received the holy Quran in this manner and also recited it. As a result, those who read the Quran aspire to fulfill the promise of Prophet Mohammed صلی الله علیه وآلهِ وسلم, which states that those who recite it correctly and proficiently will be with the dutiful writers (the angels of the preserved tablet – Al lauh Al Mahfuz).
To enhance the reader’s knowledge and remembrance of tajweed rules, we have color-coded the place of some letters based on practical phonology. This categorizes the letters into three possible categories:
1. Letters requiring expanded vocalization are highlighted in red.
2. Nasalized letters are green.
3. The emphatic of the letter (R) is indicated by dark blue, while the unrest letters-echoing sound- (qualquala) are blue.
The letters written but not pronounced are gray. By utilizing color, readers can get used to reciting the Quran, just as they have become accustomed to stopping at red lights and passing through green lights. This sublime act allows the reader to apply the 24 rules of tajweed with ease and precision while contemplating and understanding the meaning of the holy Quran.
