Imam Al-Albaanee, may Allah have mercy on him, states in this book: “Moreover, there is significant and profound wisdom behind this Sunnah – the Sunnah of praying in an open area of land. This wisdom lies in the fact that Muslims have two days each year when the entire populace of every city can congregate – men, women, and children alike – and collectively direct their hearts towards Allah in unity. They stand behind a single Imam, utter the Takbeer, and the Tahleel, and beseech Allah sincerely together, as if they are unified in the heart of one individual. They share happiness and joy for the blessing bestowed upon them by Allah. Thus, Eid truly becomes a festive occasion for them.”
Imam Al-Albaanee was arguably the preeminent scholar and the Mujaddid (Reviver) of this century, a fact attested by numerous contemporaries. He instigated a momentous resurgence of knowledge within Islam through his writings and speeches, a resurgence unparalleled for an extended period prior. May Allah shower His boundless mercy upon him.
