Islamic Studies (Grade 9)

Islamic Studies (Grade 9)
This set comprises six volumes from the Islamic Education Series, a response to the pressing demand for Islamic studies material in schools, particularly in English. Darussalam has undertaken the ambitious task of creating an Islamic Studies series that spans all grade levels, from the first to the twelfth. Encompassing tafseer, hadeeth, tawheed, fiqh, seerah, and general etiquette relevant to diverse contexts, every endeavor has been made to ensure the authenticity of the presented material. Given the significance of authentic Islamic knowledge, most Arabic terms are presented in their original script, alongside transliterations and translations – this practice extends to supplications, intended for memorization in Arabic. The primary aim is to facilitate readers in engaging with the original text and grasping its meaning. Each lesson is accompanied by exercises that delve into its content. Notably, the series features vibrant artwork that is sure to captivate children. This visual element is strategically incorporated to capture the attention of young readers, stimulating and entertaining them while also imparting education. This series seeks to familiarize students comprehensively with Islam’s teachings, encompassing beliefs, practices, and moral conduct. With its distinct features, the series effectively addresses a long-standing gap in this field. The inception of this remarkable project was initiated by education expert Maulvi Abdul Aziz, MA in English literature, whose diverse roles include serving as a Senior Administrative Officer in the Department of Private Education, Ministry of Education, Dubai, UAE, from 1982 to 2002. The present manifestation of this project owes its shape and existence to a collective effort. Al-Arabee Ben Razzouq from the College of Languages and Translation at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University, Riyadh, played a significant role in meticulously verifying the authenticity of the series’ content, undertaking exhaustive proofreading, and incorporating references to relevant Qur’anic and hadeeth quotations. Gratitude extends to Sheikh Abdul-Qawiy Luqman, an Al-Madeenah University graduate, for insightful contributions, and to Mr. Zulfiqar Mahmood, whose expertise in graphic design impeccably shaped the series. As we embark on this journey, we invoke Almighty Allah’s blessings, aspiring for this series to profoundly benefit students at all stages of education, as well as anyone who engages with its content. Abdul Malik Mujahid, Jumaadaa ath-Thaaniyah, 1428 AH. July 2007.
