Islamic Studies (Grade 8)
This set comprises six volumes from the Islamic Education Series, a response to the pressing demand for English-language Islamic studies materials in schools. Darussalam’s commitment led to the creation of an extensive Islamic Studies series, catering to all grade levels from one to twelve. This comprehensive collection encompasses the entirety of Islamic studies, including tafseer, hadeeth, tawheed, fiqh, seerah, and diverse etiquette for various contexts. Emphasis on authenticity is paramount, ensuring the veracity of the presented content. Most Arabic Islamic terms are showcased in their original script, accompanied by transliterations and meaningful translations. This approach extends to supplications intended for memorization in their Arabic form, facilitating readers in engaging with and understanding the core text. Each lesson culminates in exercises that probe its content. A noteworthy feature is the vibrant artwork strategically infused throughout the series, designed to captivate and engage children, thereby sparking their curiosity, amusement, and education. The ultimate goal of this series is to familiarize students holistically with Islam’s teachings, encompassing beliefs, practices, and ethical principles. This series distinctly addresses a long-standing void in the educational landscape. The visionary behind this exceptional initiative is education specialist Maulvi Abdul Aziz, MA in English literature, whose diverse roles include serving as Senior Administrative Officer in the Department of Private Education, Ministry of Education, Dubai, UAE, from 1982 to 2002. The current manifestation of this project owes its existence to the collective contributions of several individuals, particularly Al-Arabee Ben Razzouq from the College of Languages and Translation at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University, Riyadh. Al-Arabee meticulously verified the material’s authenticity, undertook thorough proofreading, and added references to pivotal Qur’anic and hadeeth quotations. Recognition is extended to Sheikh Abdul-Qawiy Luqman, an Al-Madeenah University graduate, for insightful input, and to Mr. Zulfiqar Mahmood, whose graphic design expertise has meticulously shaped the series. As we embark on this journey, we beseech Almighty Allah’s blessings, aspiring for this series to significantly enrich the educational experiences of students across all stages and leave a lasting impact on all who engage with its contents. Abdul Malik Mujahid, Jumaadaa ath-Thaaniyah, 1428 AH. July 2007.
