Islamic Studies (Grade 6)

Islamic Studies (Grade 6)
This compilation consists of six volumes within the Islamic Education Series, addressing a pressing requirement for Islamic studies resources in schools where the subject is taught in English. Darussalam has undertaken the commendable task of crafting an Islamic Studies series that spans the entire educational journey, from grade one through grade twelve. This comprehensive series encompasses diverse realms of Islamic studies, including tafseer, hadeeth, tawheed, fiqh, seerah, and universal etiquette that pertains to various contexts. A paramount emphasis on authentic Islamic knowledge underscores every facet, with dedicated efforts directed toward ensuring the veracity of the presented content. Acknowledging the significance of Arabic Islamic terms, the majority of these terms are presented in their native Arabic script, accompanied by transliterations and meaningful translations. This approach extends to supplications that are intended for memorization in their original Arabic form, thus fostering an enhanced reader experience. The core intention is to facilitate comprehension of the original text’s essence. Each lesson is thoughtfully followed by exercises that probe its content, encouraging a deeper engagement. A remarkable standout in this series is the incorporation of vivid and captivating artwork that is meticulously designed to resonate with children. This visual element serves to captivate young readers, evoking their interest, amusement, and educational enrichment. The fundamental objective of this series is to immerse students holistically in the teachings of Islam, spanning beliefs, practices, and moral principles. Distinguished by its unique attributes, this series effectively addresses a longstanding void in this realm that has been regrettably overlooked. The initiation of this remarkable endeavor is attributed to education specialist Maulvi Abdul Aziz, MA in English literature, whose diverse roles include serving as Senior Administrative Officer in the Department of Private Education, Ministry of Education, Dubai, UAE, from 1982 to 2002. The present form and existence of this project are the collective contributions of several individuals, prominently Al-Arabee Ben Razzouq from the College of Languages and Translation at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University, Riyadh. Al-Arabee meticulously verified the content’s authenticity, meticulously proofreading and weaving references to pivotal Qur’anic and hadeeth quotations. Gratitude extends to Sheikh Abdul-Qawiy Luqman, an Al-Madeenah University graduate, for enriching insights, and to Mr. Zulfiqar Mahmood, whose conscientious application of graphic design expertise has impeccably shaped the series. As we embark on this journey, we implore Almighty Allah’s blessings, aspiring for this series to profoundly benefit students at all stages of education, as well as anyone who engages with its content. Abdul Malik Mujahid, Jumaadaa ath-Thaaniyah, 1428 AH. July 2007.
